It’s the time of year that every Who fan, young and old, awaits with keen anticipation year after year after year. This year our Whovian holiday is to be known as “Smithmas”.
The Doctor and his crew are turning up under Christmas trees worldwide, the TARDIS is materialising on millions of household doorsteps and sonic screwdrivers from Christmasses past are making gentle “squee” noises in many living rooms.
My sonic screwdrivers are, in fact, adorning the Tribble Towers Christmas Tree, as is Miss Foster’s pen, a cardboard cutout of Ten and even a cardboard TARDIS as the tree topper! I even considered creating a sort of Nativity scene with my action figures, but I don’t have any baby Adipose to go in a crib! Perhaps my Lego Silurian?
Also, we get the Doctor Who trailer to keep us happy over the next couple of weeks, and I think it looks amazing!
So on Christmas Day at 7pm, you will find me curled up on the sofa, sonic screwdriver in hand, Adipose plushie on my lap and a fez on my head, because it’s never Christmas without the Doctor!
Perhaps I’ll even learn to make a Banana Daquiri this year!
Also, because I should have posted this a while back and forgot, here’s proof of just how deep my love for the show is:
My lovely friend Hannah spent from May to October knitting Tom Baker’s S15 scarf for me at a knock-down price! Okay, so it doesn’t look that good teamed with PJ’s or lacking a haircut – but I’d been unwell, needed cheering up and couldn’t wait to wrap this around my neck!

Ever see the video on youtube
where the Dr. Who theme was
performed on Tesla coils?
Sweeeeeeet.
Absolutely! Now that… is a thing of true beauty!
How about David Tennant and the cast and crew singing and dancing to “500 Miles”? That never fails to put a smile on my face!
I’ll have look it up.
Ever hear his monolog about pears?
No – I’ll have to find that! I’m still trying to work out embedding Youtube stuff here, as I found the prequel to the Christmas Special and it’s amazing!
Wow, thanks, T, for wanting to order my book. It’s available through Amazon. Can you do that? If not, I can send one directly to you if you’ll provide an address. That’s so nice of you. M.
