Needlework Days Part Three – Unfinished Pieces

Needlework Days

Lke many cross-stitchers I always have multiple projects on the go. Here are a few of the ones which still need me to have a “Roundtuit”:

Red Flamenco Dancer

Flamenco:

My grandmother adored the different shades of red on this piece, and I was going to gift it to her. I only have the rest of the backstitch to complete, but since Nan died I’ve lost interest. I’ll pick this one up again and frame it in her honour though.

My first ballerina

Ballerina:

I’ve not begun the backstitch on this ballerina yet. She’s such a pale, delicate piece that you really can’t see her too well without the backstitch and highlighting that she needs! A really lovely pattern to sew.

More backstitch than sewing!

Mademoiselle:

Here is where I display my backstitch skills the best, in the eye, the line of the nose, the accentuation between both  lips and the curvature of the jaw. I really must pick this one up again some time soon.

All of the above are DMC patterns using 18-count aida and DMC threads.

Progress on my Lanarte ballerina:

Getting there slowly!

Lanarte Evenweave Ballerina:

We have the neck and throat now, along with the shoulder, the dress strap and the beginning of the arm. I am really enjoying this.

I’m sure I still have more to share, if I can only find it!
