As promised, here is my current progress on my Jo Grant Day Of The Daleks outfit.
Jo’s outfit looks like this:

I need to go over those seams a few more times to get them to the correct deep scarlet, but wow I love these boots!

The blouse is still too long, but I’m working on that, and the left side is ready for overlocking. So far I’m very pleased with my efforts!
i know why gogo boots had to go out of fashion…so you could bring them back into it:D
Haha, my Mum called me this afternoon. She knew I’d started sewing and costuming again because I told her last week.
I told her I’d managed to find some gogo boots and she was “Oh, I had a pair years ago! Mine were white!” I actualy thought I remembered her having a pair when I was little
Apparently she really misses gogo boots and can’t wait to see my adapted cosplay pair!
I truly love your gogo boots! I hope you’ll post a photo of you wearing your outfit when you’ve finished it!

I thought you said you’d only just taken up sewing… how can this be? Absolutely fantastic. Congrats, Missus. I now can’t wait to see it all!
I found the boots online, stuck masking tape over the edges of the front seam and used acrylic paint. I need to go over them a few more times to get the true scarlet of Jo Grant’s own, but it only takes a few minutes and a bit of a rinse.
I’ve only ever sewn upholstery before, so am finding the clothing different – but far easier!
