Here at Tribble Towers the garden is really coming to life. Chives are prevalent and attracting Honey Bees, Garlic is growing, Mange Tout and Beetroot are doing well… and then there are my borders, in which I’m growing some amazing things!
For instance, I grow Nasturtiums. The flowers and leaves have a delightful peppery taste and are wonderful in salads.
They also produce these wonderful little seed pods that I can turn into capers:
My second year Redcurrant Bushes have done the business too, and produced more berries for my redcurrant jelly than I could have ever dared to hope for!
This bowl weighed in at 530g. As of a few moments ago we now have 700g of Redcurrants waiting to be turned into a delicious jelly! I need 1K and suspect that I shall have that amount by the weekend. There are still so many clusters ripening on the vines! I am really looking forward to making this for the first time, especially since I have been informed that my first attempt at Cherry Jam is perfect with crusty bread! I really enjoy it when I get something right the first time!
Also, have a photograph of my sister on her wedding day:
